Quirky Cars

Some tiny cars.  I love tiny cars.

Badger

Sometimes, Detective Badger likes to relax with a game a tennis.  Who doesn't?

This was inspired by Stephen Silver's awesome Character Design Shuffle app.  It basically has several different categories - outfit, action, age, gender, etc. - and randomly generates characteristics.  Great for warmups or if you're feeling stuck.

Here's the original thumbnail and drawing.

Sketch 'spolsion!

Pirates and knight and ogres.  And a hockey player.  But of course.  I also just realized I've used the title Sketch 'Splosion! before.  Bummer.

Wolverine

Wolverine in his brown and tan suit was always my favorite.

Sketchbook

A bunch of sketches from the ol' sketchbook.  Some of these were posted on my instagram and tumblr, though these are fancy shmancy scanned versions.

Twitters and things

Hi everybody!

First off, I'd like to thank all of those who have been following along and checking out this blog. You guys are the best.  I hope you all like the new layout and topiary title.

In my ever expanding bid to cover the internet in silly monsters, I've started a Twitter - crazy!  So come on down and tweet with me.  Follow along, I'll follow you, we'll tweet and retweet and all that good stuff.  It'll be a grand old time.  I'm @tim_probert.  I'm sure there will be plenty of witty and pithy goings ons.

Here's a link to my profile - https://twitter.com/tim_probert.

And if you're interested, you can also find me on tumblr and over at instagram.

Here's a silly dude for your patience!

Evil Wizard

I snagged this shape from the awesome Cup O' Doodle, a site where they put up abstract shapes and artists create drawings on top of them.  I wanted to try it out myself and can say it's a good time.  Really forces you to think outside the box and start from places you wouldn't normally.

Here's what I drew.

And here's the drawing with the original doodle overlaid.

Animals

Some animal sketches. And a tree!  Ink drawings, with color magic in Photoshop.

Sketches

Some sketches done with a brush pen and a Sharpie.

Cold Days

The heat wasn't working for a few days.  So I used my cats for warmth.

This started out as a quick warm up sketch.

Rex and Pterry

Some dinos to warm you on these cold winter days.

King Kong v Dino

Prehistoric Royal Rumble.

Deja Vu

This guy was standing next to me for a while in a store in Brooklyn this weekend. Then I saw him again yesterday in a subway station in Manhattan. Weird! A city of over 8 million people and I see the same stranger twice in totally unrelated places.

Cheers to you, two time stranger.

Summer Fun with Nosferatu

He enjoys a burger and beer between bouts of wreaking terror upon mortals.  But don't forget the sunscreen.

Here's the original sketch, before pressing the magic color button.

Sad Angler

Looking for love in all the wrong places...

Dino Party!

The terrible lizards are known for carousing late into the night.
